MOORESVILLE, N.C. — 2014 ARCA Racing Series champion Mason Mitchell will make his sixth start of the 2015 season in Friday’s Full Throttle S’loonshine 98.9 at Kansas Speedway.

Mitchell, 21, will make his fifth start of the year in a self-owned No. 78 Chevrolet with sponsorship for his Kansas effort to be provided by Iowa’s Karl Chevrolet.

Karl Chevrolet will adorn the hood of the No. 78 car for the second time this year – the first time being in Mitchell’s winning effort at Iowa Speedway in July.

Mitchell, now a two-time winner in the ARCA Racing Series, made starts this year not only at Iowa, but at Daytona International Speedway, Mobile International Speedway and in June’s race at Pocono Raceway. He also made an additional start at Berlin Raceway with Venturini Motorsports.

“I am really looking forward to being back in a racecar,” Mitchell said. “I thought that Berlin was going to be my final race of the 2015 season but the great folks at Karl Chevrolet stepped up big time and helped make this happen.”

In his career, Mitchell has three previous starts at Kansas with each start resulting in a top-10 finish. In respective results from 2012 to 2014, Mitchell turned in finishes of seventh, second and fifth.

Prior to his Iowa win, Mitchell’s first-ever win in the ARCA Racing Series came at Kansas’s sister track, Chicagoland Speedway, in July of 2014.

“I really enjoy racing at the Kansas Speedway,” Mitchell added. “I feel like every time I have raced here as a driver I have been better. I can’t thank everyone on this MMM team for working extra hours to prepare this car and everyone at Karl Chevrolet allowing me to represent them.

“I believe we can take them to victory lane for a second time this Friday evening at Kansas.”
