Kyle Busch Motorsports Reveals 2016 Driver Lineupby Kyle Pokrefky October 29, 2015 0 comments
Kyle Busch Motorsports will call upon the talents of several rising superstars of the sport to fill out their driver roster for the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.
The current championship-leading organization will field three full-time teams next season with two rookies once again holding the drivers’ seat of two respective rides.
Christopher Bell and William Byron will both compete for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the series next year while a third KBM Toyota Tundra will be shared between Cody Coughlin and Daniel Suarez.
While the numbers for the trucks the organization will field next year have yet to be determined, several sponsorship deals have already been made known with Bell’s truck carrying sponsorship from JBL (an automotive, consumer and enterprise market technologies company), Byron’s from Liberty University and Suarez’s from ARRIS.
Sponsorship for Coughlin’s Toyota Tundra will be announced at a later date.
Bell, 20, will move up to a full-time status in the series after impressing for KBM through five starts thus far this season. The dirt racer from Norman, Okla. has one win already to his name at Eldora Speedway in the Mudsummer Classic and a fifth-place finish in his series debut at Iowa Speedway.
Byron, 17, is the 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East champion and will make his Camping World Truck Series debut with KBM at Phoenix International Raceway in two weeks. In his 2015 campaign with HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks in the K&N East Series, Byron took home the title in a dominant performance that included four wins (Greenville, Iowa, Langley and New Hampshire), five top-fives and 11 top-10s.
Coughlin, 19, made two starts in the Camping World Truck Series earlier this year with one start being with KBM at Michigan International Speedway. The runner up in this year’s Winchester 400, Coughlin has been a strong presence in the ARCA/CRA Super Series and the ARCA Racing Series in recent years.
Coughlin will partner with Suarez, who currently competes for Joe Gibbs Racing in the XFINITY Series and has nine starts under his belt with KBM in the Camping World Truck Series thus far this season.
In his nine starts in the No. 51 ARRIS Toyota, Suarez has eight top-10 finishes with a best finish of second coming at both Dover International Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway.
