DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Exiting Saturday’s Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International, seven XFINITY Series teams have been assessed a penalty that will be enforced for this Saturday’s Nationwide Childrens Hospital 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
NASCAR has announced that the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing, No. 22 Team Penske, No. 26 JGL Racing, No. 33 Richard Childress Racing, No. 52 Jimmy Means Racing, No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing and No. 88 JR Motorsports entries were penalized after being late exiting the garage the past weekend.
As a result of these infractions, each team will lose 15 minutes of track time in opening practice for the NCH 200. Opening practice for this weekend’s event is scheduled for 55 minutes.
The seven entries are to be piloted respectively by Brian Scott, Alex Tagliani, Tomy Drissi, Brandon Jones, Joey Gase, Boris Said and Ben Rhodes this weekend at Mid-Ohio.
JR Motorsports’s No. 00 Camping World Truck Series entry was also penalized following Pocono Raceway’s Pocono Mountains 150 from two weeks ago.
The team was also assessed a 15-minute penalty for opening practice for this weekend’s Careers for Veterans 200 at Michigan International Speedway. Opening practice for Saturday’s race is scheduled to run for 55 minutes on Friday.
The No. 00 Haas Automation Chevrolet will be piloted by Alex Bowman at Michigan.
