Kasey Kahne On North Carolina Education Lottery 200 Pole

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Kasey Kahne used strategy and sharp reflexes to capture his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Keystone Light Pole at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday with a 181.342 mph lap. He will lead Erik Jones, Matt Tifft, Brad Keselowski and Daniel Hemrick to the green flag in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200.

Kahne narrowly dodged a spinning Spencer Gallagher in the second round of knockout qualifying, becoming the 12th and final truck to transfer to the final round. He then used a last-second lap in the waning moments of qualifying to secure the pole.

Kahne has won four of his five career Camping World Truck Series starts, but has never raced a truck at Charlotte.

Knockout qualifying was slowed for two incidents, the first with Justin Boston in the first round, and with Gallagher in the second round.

Tonight’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 will air on Fox Sports 1 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
