Dillon Brothers Fastest In NASCAR XFINITY Series Practice At Monster Mile

DOVER, Del. – It was the Dillon brothers of Richard Childress Racing that led the way in the two NASCAR XFINITY Series practice sessions on Friday at Dover International Speedway.

First Practice:

In first practice, Ty Dillon topped the speed chart with a lap of 22.780 seconds at 158.033 mph. He was the only driver all day to reach the 158 mph mark. Second fastest was Erik Jones, followed by Dillon’s teammate, Brian Scott in fourth. Kasey Kahne rounded out the top-five.

Carl Long was involved in a crash during opening practice after a weight flew from underneath the car in front of him, damaging his No. 13 Braille Battery/Grafoid Dodge. Prior to the crash, Long clocked the 35th fastest lap in opening practice.

Rookie, Daniel Suarez had the best 10 consecutive lap average. His average speed was 154.347 mph. Brennan Poole was second with an average speed of 151.586 mph.

Final Practice:

Last weekend’s Charlotte Motor Speedway winner, Austin Dillon ran the fastest lap in final practice after posting a lap of 23.337 seconds at 154.261 mph. His Richard Childress Racing teammate, Brendan Gaughan was second. Daniel Suarez finished out the session in third, followed by Darrell Wallace Jr. and Matt Kenseth.

NASCAR XFINITY Series point leader, Chris Buescher clocked the best 10 consecutive lap average with an average speed of 151.288 mph. Brendan Gaughan was second with an average speed of 151.089 mph, and Kasey Kahne rounded out the top-three with an average speed of 151.037 mph.

NASCAR XFINITY Series Coors Light Pole Qualifying will air live on FOX Sports 1 at 11:15 a.m. ET on Saturday. The Buckle Up 200 presented by Click It or Ticket will broadcast live on FOX at 2:30 p.m. ET, following qualifying.
