KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — Brandon Jones’s already busy 2015 schedule has just become a bit busier as the 18-year-old Atlanta native will take on a partial schedule with NTS Motorsports in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East division.
Already signed to contracts with Richard Childress Racing in the XFINITY Series, GMS Racing in the Camping World Truck Series and Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Racing Series, Jones will participate in the K&N East Series’s upcoming race at Bristol Motor Speedway on April 18th with future starts with NTS to be determined.
Jones will race for the team in a No. 33 Chevrolet that will be sponsored by MasterForce, a hand tool manufacturer.
A veteran of 23 starts in the K&N Pro Series East, Jones has one win at Iowa Speedway under his belt along with five top-five and 13 top-10 finishes. Jones finished fourth in the drivers standings last year in his lone full season in the series.
“I’m really excited to be working with NTS Motorsports in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East this year,” Jones said. “After racing against them last season, I know the quality of the race cars that they bring to the track and I’m confident we’ll be competitive when we unload our MasterForce Chevrolet at Bristol Motor Speedway.”
Jones will take the wheel for NTS Motorsports at Bristol’s PittLite 125 as the third different driver for the organization this year.
Gray Gaulding raced for the team in the season opener at New Smyrna Speedway before departing for Precision Performance Motorsports while Daniel Hemric, an NTS Motorsports driver in the Camping World Truck Series, drove for the team at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.
“We are very pleased to have Brandon Jones on board at NTS Motorsports,” team owner Bob Newberry said. “Brandon is a great young man who has been on the radar for quite a while. I see a lot of promise in him and his future in our sport, so we’re excited to have him and MasterForce joining us.
“We’re proud of NTS Motorsports’ performance in the [NASCAR] K&N Pro Series East so far in 2015, and I think we have every opportunity to bring home the checkered flag in Bristol.”
The PittLite 125 will take place on Friday, April 18th at approximately 4:30 p.m ET. A taped replay of the race will air on NBC Sports Network on Thursday, April 23rd.
