Kyle Larson Tops NASCAR Sprint Cup Series First Practice In Atlanta

HAMPTON, Ga. – Drivers of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series hit the banks at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon for their first practice session of the weekend.

Kyle Larson set the fastest time with a lap time of 28.727 seconds at 192.989 mph. Kevin Harvick who finished runner-up in the Daytona 500 last weekend was second fastest, and David Ragan who’s filling in for Kyle Busch was third fastest. Daytona 500 winner, Joey Logano was fourth, and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top-five.

Kyle Larson also had the best 10 consecutive lap average with an average speed of 185.537 mph. Paul Menard was third with an average speed of 185.395 mph, and Danica Patrick was third with an average speed of 184.158 mph.
