STATESVILLE, N.C. — Front Row Motorsports has named Joe Nemechek as the interim driver for its No. 34 Ford for this Sunday’s QuikTrip Folds of Honor 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
David Ragan, the usual full-time driver of the No. 34 entry, is to substitute for the injured Kyle Busch in his No. 18 Toyota with Joe Gibbs Racing for this weekend and for an undetermined number of races through the next several weeks.
Nemechek was not listed for entry for Sunday’s race with his No. 87 NEMCO Motorsports team nor for any other Sprint Cup team. Nemechek is, however, entered for Saturday evening’s Camping World Truck Series event.
A veteran of 666 career starts in the Sprint Cup Series, Nemechek has four victories, 18 top-fives, 62 top-10s, and 10 pole positions to his credit.
Most recently in the Sprint Cup Series, Nemechek competed in 15 races with Premium Motorsports in 2014 with a best finish of 30th coming at Watkins Glen in August.
Nemechek’s deal with Front Row Motorsports is currently scheduled as strictly a one-race deal.
