MOORESVILLE, N.C. — NASCAR K&N Pro Series West standout Dylan Lupton has received an opportunity to race in the XFINITY Series part-time in 2015 with Athenian Motorsports.

Lupton, runner-up to Greg Pursley in the 2014 K&N West championship, will pilot Athenian’s No. 25 Chevrolet Camaro in seven races this upcoming season. John Wes Townley will race the No. 25 car in the remaining 26 races of the XFINITY season.

Lupton’s seven scheduled starts for this season will come at Phoenix International Raceway (March 14th), Richmond International Raceway (April 24th), Chicagoland Speedway (June 20th), Iowa Speedway (August 1st), Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (August 15th), Road America (August 29th), and at Kentucky Speedway (September 26th.)

Via his twitter account, @LuptonDylan, the 21-year-old from Wilton, Calif. stated that the opportunity to race in one of NASCAR’s national series is a dream come true.

@LuptonDylan: This is a dream come true. I can’t think everyone enough for this opportunity! I’m anxious to get on the track in a month at @PhoenixRaceway.

In 32 career starts in the K&N Pro Series West, Lupton has two career victories (Evergreen 2013 and Kern County Raceway Park 2014) as well as 13 top-fives and 26 top-10 finishes.

Lupton’s 2014 season was notable for having the driver of the No. 9 Bob Bruncati Racing Ford finish in the top-nine in each of the 14 races of the season.

While Townley will carry sponsorship from family-owned Zaxby’s for his XFINITY schedule, sponsorship for Lupton’s XFINITY effort has yet to be announced.
