MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Full-time driver for Richard Childress Racing in the XFINITY Series, Brendan Gaughan, will compete in a majority of races in the Sprint Cup Series this season for Premium Motorsports.

Gaughan, driver of RCR’s No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet in NXS, is to race in Premium Motorsports’s No. 62 entry full-time starting at the second race of the season at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the QuikTrip Folds of Honor 500.

The 39-year-old from Las Vegas will attempt to make his first starts in the Sprint Cup Series since 2013 and will attempt to run the most races in any given season in the Sprint Cup Series since 2004 – his rookie season in Sprint Cup.

Gaughan’s RCR teammate in the XFINITY Series, Brian Scott, will pilot a No. 62 Chevrolet for Premium in the Daytona 500 while Mike Wallace will drive a No. 66 Toyota for the team.

The organization will not field a third car for Gaughan for the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway.

Sponsorship has yet to be announced for the No. 62 ride for both Gaughan and Scott’s Daytona 500 entry.

Gaughan is sponsored by his family-owned South Point Hotel & Casino in the XFINITY Series while Scott’s No. 2 Chevrolet in NXS is sponsored by Shore Lodge.
