CHARLOTTE, NC – South Carolina-based NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team, HScott Motorsports will expand to a two-car team in 2015, with Michael Annett joining team veteran, Justin Allgaier.

During the Charlotte Motor Speedway Media Tour presented by Technocom, HScott Motorsports announced that Michael Annett will drive the Pilot Flying J Chevrolet full-time during the 2015 season. Cypress Associates, Inc., Allstate Peterbilt Group and Northland Oil will partner with Annett, as well. A number for the car and a crew chief has yet to be announced.

“Having an additional car is going to provide some economies to scale for us and basically double our resources and double out data points,” team owner, Harry Scott Jr. said. “I’ve had multiple conversations with Steve Addington about this plan, and he has got a solid plan to make the best of having two cars this year and to utilize our resources to get even better.”

During his rookie season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series last year competing for Tommy Baldwin Racing, Annett finished out the year 33rd in the point standings, earning four top-20 finishes. His best finish of the 2014 season was a 16th at Talladega Superspeedway in May. Annett’s previous experience in the NASCAR XFINITY Series catapulted him to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series last season. He has amassed 34 top-10 finishes and has logged 28,905 laps between the years 2008 and 2013 in the NASCAR XFINITY Series.

“I think I’ve been around the sport about when Harry was getting into it and to see what every organization he has come into whether it was K&N (Pro Series East), XFINITY (Series), Truck Series – it doesn’t take very long for them to have success,” Annett said.

Justin Allgaier will be back behind the wheel of the No. 51 BRANDT Chevrolet in 2015. For three races, Auto-Owners Insurance will come onboard as a primary partner. Steve Addington is also returning to the team as Competition Director, and he’ll continue to carry out the duties as crew chief for Allgaier. In 2014, Allgaier finished out the season 29th in the point standings after posting 10 top-20 finishes. During the Chase for the Sprint Cup events at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway, Allgaier finished a season high of 15th.

“I think having a teammate is paramount,” Allgaier said. “To have somebody that not only you can bounce ideas off of and compare to on a race weekend, but to have those resources having a second car will allow us to do and to have that extra bit. As we go to the racetrack each and every weekend – last year we were kind of on our own if you will, and in the setups and the things that we were trying to learn, we weren’t able to really push the envelope because we were so focused on what was working and trying to make that go forward.”

Now that Allgaier and Annett have a full season under their belts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, look for the two drivers to make great strides in 2015. Both drivers had successful seasons in the NASCAR XFINITY Series as they competed against each other, so it’s only a matter of time before they start moving forward with competitive finishes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
