WELCOME, N.C. — Richard Childress Racing has announced that 2013 NASCAR XFINITY Series champion Austin Dillon will run a majority of the 2015 XFINITY Series season for the team.

Dillon, a two-time race winner in 78 starts in the XFINITY Series, will drive a No. 33 Chevrolet Camaro for next season and will make up RCR’s 2015 series lineup with drivers Brendan Gaughan, Brian Scott, and brother Ty Dillon. Former NASCAR K&N Pro Series East driver Brandon Jones will also attempt several races for RCR in 2015.

The 24-year-old from Lewisville, North Carolina will not run for the XFINITY Series championship in 2015 as he will run for the Sprint Cup for the second consecutive season.

The 2013 series champion went for most of the 2014 season without racing in the formerly-named Nationwide Series until he made a lone start for RCR at Texas in November, where he finished seventh.

Dillon and the No. 33 team will receive sponsorship for their 2015 effort from Rheem. Dillon has a previous relationship with the sponsor as he made one race start with Rheem sponsorship in 2014 in a Camping World Truck Series race at Chicagoland in September.

“Rheem has a long tradition of reliability and quality in their industry with close to 90 years in the business,” Dillon said. “My family has a long tradition in NASCAR and we also have a tradition of reliability and performance.

“I enjoy racing in the XFINITY Series and will be proud to represent Rheem while contending for wins on Saturday afternoons in 2015.”

Rheem has had a long-standing relationship with Richard Childress Racing, serving the championship-winning organization and its affiliate teams in the Sprint Cup, XFINITY, and Camping World Truck Series dating back to the 2007 season.

“The association with Rheem has been a great one for all of us at RCR,” Richard Childress, RCR’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman said. “Rheem’s focus on providing their customers with reliable and innovative comfort solutions is similar to how RCR likes to approach our business.

We both represent quality, durability and overall performance. Rheem’s longstanding support of RCR and our sport are appreciated by everyone on our team.”
