Austin Dillon Fastest in O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge Final Practice

FORT WORTH, Texas. — Austin Dillon went to the top of the scoring pylon after 90 minutes of practice on Saturday afternoon, running a lap of 29.108 seconds to claim the title of fastest driver in final practice for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway.

Dillon’s fastest time of the session was a full two-tenths of a second quicker than second-place Joey Logano’s fastest lap, a circuit of 29.314 seconds.

Rounding out the top-10 of the session would be Trevor Bayne, Brendan Gaughan, Dylan Kwasniewski, Kyle Busch, Ty Dillon, Matt Kenseth, Brian Scott, and Chris Buescher.

As was the case in first practice, both of the top-two drivers in the points standings – Chase Elliott and Regan Smith – would miss out on the top-10 of the session’s standings. Elliott would run the 17th-fastest lap of the afternoon while Smith would run the 18th-quickest lap of the session.

Ryan Blaney would run the quickest consecutive 10 laps with an average speed of 180.164 mph during one of his runs.

Saturday brings about qualifying and the 200-lap O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge for the Nationwide Series. Qualifying will start at 11:35 a.m CT (12:35 p.m ET) and the race will start at 2:30 p.m CT (3:30 p.m ET.)
