Alex Bowman Puts JR Motorsports on Top in Phoenix Final Practice

AVONDALE, Ariz. — Alex Bowman posted the fastest time in final practice for the DAV 200 at Phoenix International Raceway on Friday afternoon with a circuit of the one-mile speedway at 26.944 seconds.

Bowman, the driver of the No. 5 LINE-X Protective Coatings Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, completed a lap that was over three full tenths of a second quicker than second-place driver Kyle Busch’s lap of 27.249 seconds.

Rounding out the top-10 behind Bowman and Busch were Erik Jones, Brendan Gaughan, John Wes Townley, Brennan Newberry, Ty Dillon, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Regan Smith.

As was the case in this morning’s opening practice session, the 70-minute final practice session ran uninterrupted for its entirety.

Remaining on the weekend schedule for the Nationwide Series garage are qualifying, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday morning at 10:45 a.m MT (12:45 p.m ET), and the DAV 200 itself, scheduled to take place at 2:00 p.m MT (4:00 p.m ET) on Saturday afternoon.
