CONCORD, N.C. — Elliott Sadler is headed to Roush-Fenway Racing in 2015 to run in their NASCAR XFINITY Series program.

Sadler, the current driver of the No. 11 OneMain Financial Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing in what is soon to be named the XFINITY Series, will move over to Roush-Fenway Racing next season to pilot the No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford.

The 2011 and 2012 championship runner-up will contend for his first-ever XFINITY Series championship next year in what will be his fifth consecutive year in NASCAR’s second-tier national series.

Sadler’s move to Roush-Fenway Racing will have the 10-time XFINITY Series race winner contend for the series’ title with his fourth different team in five years (Kevin Harvick Inc. would merge into Richard Childress Racing in 2012.) Since his return to the series in 2011, OneMain Financial have partnered with Sadler and have followed him to each of his teams.

“It is an honor to remain with OneMain Financial next year,” Sadler says. “Their commitment to teamwork and excellence carries throughout the organization and extends to the racing program. I’m thrilled for the opportunity to race under the OneMain Financial banner and team up with Roush Fenway Racing to compete for the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship in 2015.”

Sadler’s switch to Roush-Fenway Racing next season will be to replace the outgoing Trevor Bayne, who will be moving up full-time to Roush-Fenway’s Sprint Cup operation. Sadler is to partner with current XFINITY Series rookies Chris Buescher and Ryan Reed next season.

Roush-Fenway Racing’s President, Steve Newmark, issued a statement on what the incoming veteran will bring to Roush-Fenway Racing’s XFINITY Series program next season.

“It’s great to have OneMain Financial back on board,” Newmark said. “They are a first-class organization from top to bottom, a leader in their field and one of the most respected organizations in their industry. We enjoyed a great partnership in the past, and we look forward to reigniting that relationship moving forward next season.

“We are also very excited about what Elliott Sadler brings to our driver lineup,” added Newmark. “He is a seasoned veteran and a winner on the track.  He brings a reputation as a fierce competitor and I know that our entire organization, and particularly his Roush Fenway teammates in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Chris Buescher and Ryan Reed, will benefit from his experience next season.”
