SPARTA, Ky. — Ty Dillon grabbed his second career Coors Light Pole Award in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Saturday afternoon after taking the pole for the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway.

Dillon ran a lap of 30.736 seconds to claim the pole position. The driver of the No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet would run a lap that was 78-thousandths of a second quicker than second-place driver Sam Hornish Jr’s time and would lead a charge for Richard Childress Racing that placed all four RCR cars in the top-five (Brendan Gaughan third, Cale Conley fourth, and Brian Scott fifth.)

Chris Buescher, Elliott Sadler, Michael McDowell, Chase Elliott, and Regan Smith would round out the top-10 on the grid.

Carl Long would bring out the lone caution during qualifying for a spin during the first 25-minute round. Long would be the lone driver to not qualify for the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 after his team would be unable to bring the No. 13 Dodge back out onto the track following his early spin.

The pole has been the place to start at Kentucky Speedway in the Nationwide Series. The driver to start from P1 on the grid has won six of the 16 races to be completed at Kentucky in the series.

The average starting position of the eventual winner at Kentucky is 4.3.
