Brian Scott Leads Opening NNS Dover Practice

DOVER, Del. — Brian Scott led the way for a stellar Richard Childress Racing group performance in opening practice for the Dover 200 by running the fastest lap of the session with a circuit of 23.5 seconds on Friday morning.

All four Richard Childress Racing Chevrolets would run a top-nine lap time, Cale Conley would run second to Scott with a lap of 23.61 seconds, Brendan Gaughan would run sixth-fastest, and Ty Dillon would run the ninth-fastest lap of the session.

Rounding out the top-five on the speed chart behind Scott and Conley would be Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, and Kyle Busch.

Joey Logano, Trevor Bayne, and Regan Smith would run the respective seventh, eighth, and tenth-fastest times of the opening 50-minute session.

A total of 39 drivers would take a lap around the mile-long concrete oval with no caution flags waving during the session.

Next up for the Nationwide Series for today is an 80-minute final practice session that will take place at 2:00 p.m EST. ESPN2 will provide live television coverage of the session.
