BRISTOL, Tenn. – On Friday morning at Bristol Motor Speedway, Roush Fenway Racing announced that the Ortho brand would serve as the primary partner in a multi-year deal for Greg Biffle and the No. 16 team.

The partnership kicks off at Atlanta Motor Speedway next weekend and will make two more appearances this season. Steve Newmark, President of Roush Fenway Racing stated that Ortho is expected to appear on the No. 16 car for roughly half of the races throughout the 2015 season, however, he didn’t go into any further details. Scotts Miracle-Gro, parent company of Ortho was with Roush Fenway Racing from 2005-2011, sponsoring cars/trucks throughout NASCAR’s top-three series.

“I can say I’m really excited about all the things,” Biffle said. “There’s been a lot of brainstorming behind the scenes and I’m really, really excited about some of the things we’re talking about doing to promote the brand and I can’t wait to hit the ground running, so to speak, on all the neat things we’re gonna be able to do and promotions to have. I’m looking forward to it. It’s a change in direction. I’ve been very fortunate to build great relationships over a long period of time. I can count my sponsors on basically one hand I’ve had in the last 16 years in the sport, so it’s fun to create relationships and I think more than anything I’ve created a lot of friendships in those companies over those years more than a business relationship or sponsor relationship and I think that also means a lot.”

The announcement comes as a relief since 3M announced they were leaving Roush Fenway Racing on August 12 and moving over to Hendrick Motorsports with Jeff Gordon.

“In this sport, I think everybody is familiar with this, but you’re always looking for more partners and to try to build that program,” Newmark said in response to 3M leaving. “We had engaged in discussions with Scotts because of that history even before some of those things unfolded, so this, like a lot of other things, was in process and it stood alone based on the marketing potential I think both partners see.”

Greg Biffle is currently one of the bubble drivers trying to make into this year’s Chase, so having an inked deal should certainly boost momentum heading into the upcoming weeks at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Richmond International Raceway. So far this season, Biffle has amassed three top-five and eight top-10 finishes.
