MARNE, Mich. — Mason Mitchell (Mason Mitchell Motorsports) claimed his fourth pole position of the year by running the fastest lap in qualifying for the Federated Auto Parts 200 at the Berlin Raceway.

Mitchell’s lap of 16.782 seconds was just one-thousandth of a second off of his qualifying lap from last year that set a track record for the .4375-mile oval. Mitchell’s sixth career pole is his second consecutive pole position of the season – Mitchell was the pole-sitter for the ModSpace 125 at the Pocono Raceway one week ago.

Sharing the front row with Mitchell is the only driver ahead of him in the ARCA Racing Series’ drivers’ standings, Grant Enfinger (GMS Racing.) Enfinger came 44-thousandths of a second from knocking his closest competitor for the drivers’ championship off of the top spot of the starting grid.

15-year-old J.J. Haley (Venturini Motorsports) came close to claiming his second career ARCA Racing Series pole in his Venturini Motorsports-owned Toyota. Haley ran a lap of 16.865 seconds – 83-thousandths of a second off of Mitchell’s time – a lap that was good enough for third on the grid.

Rounding out the top-10 grid positions for tonight’s Federated Auto Parts 200 will be Kyle Weatherman (Roulo Brothers Racing), Brennan Poole (Venturini Motorsports), Justin Boston (Venturini Motorsports), Austin Wayne Self (Cunningham Motorsports), Tom Hessert (Cunningham Motorsports), Tom Hessert (Cunningham Motorsports), Ken Schrader (Ken Schrader Racing), and Clair Zimmerman (Bobby Gerhart Racing.)

The last 15 races at the Berlin Raceway have been won from a top-seven starting position with the last five races coming from a top-five starting spot. The pole-sitter has eventually gone on to win at Berlin in the ARCA Racing Series on three different occasions.
