NEW WESTON, Ohio. — 33 teams have entered for the second annual Mudsummer Classic, a dirt race held at the Eldora Speedway – a half-mile clay oval nestled in western Ohio.

Austin Dillon (Richard Childress Racing) has entered the second running of the Mudsummer Classic looking to defend his win in the inaugural event last year. Younger brother Ty Dillon (Richard Childress Racing) has also been entered for the event, marking the first time either Dillon brother has been entered for a Camping World Truck Series event this year. Their entries are also notable for being the first entries that Richard Childress Racing have filed for this year’s CWTS season.

Last year’s second place finisher, Kyle Larson (Turner Scott Motorsports), has also entered for his first Truck race of the season looking for redemption after coming close to a Mudsummer Classic victory last year. Larson is locked into the race by virtue of having his No. 32 Turner Scott Motorsports Chevrolet solidly within the top-20 of the owners’ standings.

Fellow Sprint Cup rookie, Michael Annett (GMS Racing), will be looking to make his first Camping World Truck Series start in six years in the No. 14 GMS Racing Chevrolet on Wednesday evening. Annett’s best career CWTS finish was a second-place result that came at Kentucky in 2008 for Bill Davis Racing.

Attempting to qualify for the event in the No. 00 Haas Racing Development Chevrolet this week is Ken Schrader, last year’s Eldora pole-winner. Schrader finished 14th in the Classic last year and is in strong equipment for this year’s running – the No. 00 Chevrolet is coming off of back-to-back top-10s from Gateway and Iowa with regular driver Cole Custer.

Youngsters Gray Gaudling (NTS Motorsports) and John Hunter Nemechek (SWM-NEMCO Motorsports) are listed for Wednesday’s event as well. Unlike Ty Dillon, Annett, and Schrader, however, both Gaulding and Nemechek are locked into Wednesday night’s race.

A classic dirt-race qualification system will be in use on Wednesday evening, with five qualifying races transferring five drivers each into the main event – a 150-lap duel on the dirt. A last chance 25-lap qualifier will transfer another five drivers into the race, completing the 30-driver grid.
