CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kyle Busch (Kyle Busch Motorsports) topped the scoring pylon after two hours of practice for the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in the Camping World Truck Series.

After having both of Thursday’s practice sessions rained out, Friday morning’s session was the only opportunity for the Truck drivers to log practice laps for tonight’s race. To accommodate the Truck drivers, this morning’s practice that was initially scheduled for one hour was extended by another hour.

Ford and Toyota dominated the practice, only two Chevrolets placed in the top-10 – those trucks being driven by Ron Hornaday Jr. (Turner Scott Motorsports) in seventh and by Max Gresham (GMS Racing) in 10th-place.

Busch’s Toyota Tundra was the quickest truck on track with a lap turned of 29.864 seconds, 89 thousandths of a second quicker than second-place Ryan Blaney’s (Brad Keselowski Racing) time. The Sprint Cup drivers entered for tonight’s race didn’t dominate the speedcharts in this morning’s practice as might have been expected. Blaney’s teammate (and team owner), Brad Keselowski, turned in the fourth-quickest lap of the session; Austin Dillon (NTS Racing) would run the 12th-fastest lap.

Ben Kennedy (Turner Scott Motorsports) was the fastest rookie in practice with a lap time of 30.066 seconds, a time that was quick enough to place him just outside of the top-10 in 11th-place.

Qualifying for the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 is up next for the trucks and is scheduled to start at 5:40 p.m ET. The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 is set to commence at 8:30 p.m. Coverage for the race tonight will be provided by FOX Sports 1 with pre-race coverage beginning at 8:00 p.m.
