Austin Dillon On Pole For Sprint Showdown

by May 16, 2014 0 comments

Austin Dillon clocked a lap of 27.747 seconds at 194.616 mph Friday afternoon at Charlotte Motor Speedway to sit on the pole for the NASCAR Sprint Showdown. AJ Allmendinger was second with a lap time of 27.821 seconds, followed by Kyle Larson, Clint Bowyer and Marcos Ambrose to round out the top-five. Look for tonight’s 40-lap event to be extremely competitive as some of NASCAR’s powerhouses fight it out to grab the two transfer spots that’ll catapult them into Saturday’s Sprint All-Star Race. Fans will be able to vote a driver into the Sprint All-Star Race, as well.

The Sprint Showdown will be live on Fox Sports 1 at 7 p.m. You can also listen to the race on the Performance Racing Network.
