Daniel Hemric Goes Back-To-Back In PASS

by March 9, 2014 0 comments

Dillon, SC – Daniel Hemric went to Victory Lane for the second weekend in a row in the Pro All Star Series (PASS) Super Late Models after he took the checkered flag in the South Carolina Clash 150 at Dillon Motor Speedway on Saturday night.

After winning the The Fox Carolina 150 at Greenville-Pickens Speedway last weekend, Hemric and his team certainly had the momentum as they traveled south to Dillon County. Especially since Daniel Hemric also won the Wildcat 150 at Dillon Motor Speedway back in October when the PASS last visited.

“Everything worked out in the strategy in Greenville and what not, but we just really didn’t have the best car tonight, but the team’s motto is to have faith,” Daniel Hemric said. “That last restart everybody reminded me that they believed in me – this is huge.”

Hemric started the South Carolina Clash 150 in the fifth position, but throughout the night, he just kept his nose clean and avoided several multi-car accidents. With only two laps to go, Hemric and Cole Timm were fighting hard for the lead when Timm spun the slower car of Will Gallaher to bring out the final caution of the night. On the restart, Daniel Hemric was able to hold off Cole Timm and the rest of the field to capture his fourth career PASS victory and second at Dillon Motor Speedway.

“I wanted to ride, I wanted to ride, and then when I needed to go, I didn’t think I had enough, but the cautions fell our way,” Hemric said. “Everybody bottled up there on the bottom, and we picked a few up on the top there on that last restart. We caught lapped traffic, I seemed to get really tight in the center and free off, and I just started dialing rear break, rear break, rear break and the more I got, the freer I got on entry.”

After the race, Hemric said that they may not have had the fastest car all weekend, but they definitely had the most heart. The team’s motto is to believe in each other, and just like at Greenville-Pickens Speedway last weekend, Hemric was patient and found his way to Victory Lane.

Hemric will compete in a few more PASS events this season, but he will primarily concentrate on the Southern Super Series as he will try to defend his championship title. But as for Saturday night, he and his team members were living in the present and enjoying every aspect of the victory at Dillon Motor Speedway.

The PASS Super Late Models will be back in action on Saturday, April 5 as they invade Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC for the 9th Annual Orange Blossom Special. Jay Fogleman is the defending winner of the event.
