CONCORD, NC :: Brett Hearn from Sussex, NJ picked up the Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modified win on Friday night at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

Hearn started from the top spot in Friday night’s 40-lap race and led wire to wire for the win. Hearn also won two heat races on Thursday and drew the pole during the redraw for the feature.

“We were very good the first half of the race, but I was really struggling at the end,” Hearn said. “It’s never easy. We tried to make the right choices in tires and setup and stuff like that, and maybe we didn’t make the right choices tonight but the ones we made were good enough to win the race.”

Hearn was the point’s leader coming into the night and all but locked up the 2013 SuperDIRT Car championship. He will take a 161-point lead into the final night of the World Finals on Saturay night.

Stewart Friesen would give Hearn several challenges throughout the night, but was never able to move around Hearn for the win. Friesen would finish second.

Matt Sheppard, who sits second in points to Hearn would end the 40-lap event in the third spot.
