UARA Gearing Up for Championship Battle at Andersonby Press Release October 23, 2013 0 comments
The UARA-STARS will conclude their 2013 Racing season with a down to the wire Championship run at Anderson Motor Speedway this Saturday, October 26, 2013. Not only will they crown their 2013 Series Champion but also the 2013 Rookie of the Year. The Rookie of the Year battle is also down to the wire.
Due to multiple rainouts, track rescheduling and closing of tracks, the season will end with thirteen races completed.
With all the frustrations with Mother Nature the UARA fans still got a great year of racing and it will finish with a battle for the championship between Dillon Bassett who leads contender Garrett Campbell by a mere 26 points. Closely watching this play out will be 2012 Champion Travis Swaim who sits in the third position on the point race. Swaim is 103 points behind leader Bassett and 77 behind Campbell. As the old saying goes “It ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings”. Well that lady is going to be singing her heart out come Saturday night.
On the rookie side Garrett Jones and Chandler Levan will have a battle of their own. The two rookies are separated by 46 points. The Levan team is trying desperately to get their car back to racing condition after receiving significant damage at Tri County last week. Wishing them all the best in their efforts.
Racing with the STARS will be the BM Modifieds, Front Wheel Drives, Legends and the Carolina Vintage cars to make for a full night of racing action.
