Lucama, NC (September 13, 2013) – Deac McCaskill scored his 13th and 14th wins of the season at Southern National Motorsports Park on Friday night, sweeping twin Late Model features in the HendrickCars.com 270.

McCaskill was the fastest qualifier with a 15.391 second lap.  He started on the pole in the first 75-lap race and led wire-to-wire en route to victory.  Brandon Brown started second in the race and ran in the runner-up position until lap 46 when Hunter Devers got around him.  Devers would surrender the second position on lap 71 when he was relegated to fourth position as David Garbo, Jr. and Tommy Lemons, Jr. got around him.  Devers would go on to finish fourth while Johnathan Findley finished fifth.  Rounding out the top ten were Myatt Snider, Michael Rouse, Brandon Brown, Austin McDaniel and Tyler Hughes.

The top six cars were inverted for the second race putting Snider on the pole.  Devers, who started third, would take the lead on the fifth lap of the race from Snider and go on to lead until lap 11 when McCaskill roared back to the lead.  Devers would surrender the second position to Lemons on lap 29.  From there, Lemons and McCaskill staged a classic duel, racing side-by-side through much of the race.  Lemons used the outside line to his advantage to take the lead on a lap 60 restart.  McCaskill edged Lemons for the lead on lap 63 when the caution came out again.  On the ensuing restart, McCaskill took the outside line, pinning Lemons on the inside.  McCaskill held Lemons off to score the victory, his 14th on the season at Southern National.

“Awesome side-by-side side racing with Tommy Lemons,” said McCaskill.  “I thought he had me until he spun his tires on the last restart.  Now I’m hoping to achieve one of the most difficult feats, a repeat tomorrow for a quad-victory weekend. The competition is so good here. I’m going to need a lot of things to go my way to achieve such a feat but I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Garbo finished third in the second race with Peyton Sellers, Brown, Findley, Rouse, Terry Carroll, Snider and McDaniel rounding out the top ten.

Clay Jones picked up the win in the 65-lap Superior Trailer Limited Late Model race.  Jones started second and picked up the lead from Bradley McCaskill on lap seven.  The two traded positions again later in the race when McCaskill took the lead on lap 32.  Jones got back around on lap 39 and went on to score the victory over McCaskill, Louis White, Buckshot Jones and Adam Resnick.

Dillon Spain scored the win in the 35-lap PhazeThree Computers Legends feature, holding off Max Smith, Justin Mitchell, Tyler Hughes and Mike Weddell.  Travis Miller picked up the win in the 25-lap G&S Auto Body U-CAR feature with Josh Taylor, Tyler Horne, James Stroud and Duane Walker rounding out the top five.

Southern National Motorsports Park will be back in action on Saturday night, September 14th with twin 100-lap Late Model features, part of the Dirty Dozen.  The Mid South Automotive Chargers division will also compete along with the Quality Pre-Owned Cars & Trucks Street Stocks, Brandonbilt Foundations Legends, PLT Concrete Mini Modifieds, PhazeThree UCARS and The Sign Shop Bandoleros division.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for youths ages 13-15, $6 for kids ages 6-12 and kids five and under admitted free.
