Trey Marcham Preparing to Kick Asphalt at Myrtle Beach and Southern National

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK :: After being forced by Mother Nature to take time off, Trey Marcham is ready to get back in the saddle again.  Marcham will run at Myrtle Beach Speedway on July 4th and Southern National Motorsports Park on July 6th.  The July 4th race will be Marcham’s first race on asphalt since the UARA-STARS race at Rockingham in April.

“I have high expectations at Myrtle Beach,” said Marcham.  “Last time we were at Myrtle Beach, we had a really good car until we got spun out by a lapped car.  Every time we’ve gone there, we’ve been really good so we’re hoping for a good finish.”

That same weekend, Marcham will head to Southern National Motorsports Park in Lucama, NC for the first time.

“I’ve never been to Southern National,” explained Marcham.  “I don’t even know what the track looks like so we’ll need to do some research.  The car we’re going with is always in contention to win.  We’ll see how everything goes.”

Marcham is excited about the upcoming races and anxious to get back inside a racecar.  Marcham’s home track, I44 Riverside Speedway, was destroyed in May by a tornado and has remained closed down since the tornado.

“Everything’s been cancelled lately,” said Marcham.  “My home track (I44 Riverside Speedway) got destroyed by a tornado.  Racing’s been very slow lately.  We’re planning more East Coast races after these two races.  We’re going to try to run the big race at Martinsville and Rockingham again.  Beyond that I don’t know.  We’re going to do a lot of west coast midgets and stuff as well as some races in Illinois.  We’re just trying to hit all our bases.”
