(April 10, 2013) – Cory Joyce and the No. 20 Shibby Chevrolet team will kick off their 2013 race season this weekend with the United Auto Racing Association (UARA) STARS Series event at Rockingham (N.C.) (“The Rock”) Speedway.  Joyce, who lists Rockingham among his favorite tracks, finished seventh at the one-mile oval during the UARA-STARS Series last stop at “The Rock” in November 2012.  The 21-year-old and his Mooresville, N.C.-based Cory Joyce Racing team spent the last six weeks focusing on getting their car perfect for the 75-lap race at Rockingham Speedway.

Joyce’s No. 20 Chevrolet will have a new look this weekend with logos for Shibby Clothing Line on the car. Shibby Clothing Line is a specialty clothing line started by Joyce in 2012, which offers shorts, shirts, sweatshirts and bathing suits designed by the 21-year-old driver.  The clothing line allows Joyce to connect with his fans by offering them his personal style. “I’m really excited to kick off our season at Rockingham Speedway this weekend,” commented Joyce. “We have Daren Shaw back as our crew chief; he did a great job last year and I’m excited to have him calling the shots again. Rockingham is a legendary track where all of the big-name drivers have raced. It would mean a lot to me to be able to bring home a strong finish in our No. 20 Shibby Chevrolet on Saturday afternoon.”

The UARA-STARS Series schedule at Rockingham Speedway will feature two practice sessions on Friday afternoon with qualifying on Saturday morning and the 75-lap race on Saturday afternoon. Tickets for the event are just $15 and the green flag is scheduled to wave at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, April 13.
