UARA-STARS Take Time to Thank Sponsors

by January 21, 2013 0 comments

In the motorsports community, sponsorship is often known for providing the finances to keep the show going. They allow talented drivers to fulfill their dreams and for a series to stay open for business. In the UARA series, their drivers and employees have formed connections with the sponsors and have created a family-like environment.

“We are so grateful for our amazing sponsors and marketing partners,” says UARA President Kerry Bodenhamer. “They have become family and we look forward to another great year of racing with them.”

At the end of the 2012 racing season, UARA made one of their biggest sponsorship announcements. They decided to make a switch from Goodyear tires to Hoosier tires. This not only affected the series, but the drivers as they will have to take time to adjust to the different tire. Goodyear and the UARA have been partners for quite some time and have exchanged many racing memories together.

On the administration side, Unifirst dresses the UARA employees, while TriStar dressed Miss UARA Brittany Poe in one of their fire suits. Miss UARA drove a Jeff’s Auto Sales LLC sponsored pace car with a NASCAL wrapping during each event.

Sunoco is another well-known, long term sponsor to the UARA. They award the fastest driver during qualifying with the ‘Sunoco Pole,’ which includes a $100 bonus. Circle Wheels and Xtreme trophies award the top finishing rookie every event with a trophy and the title of ‘Rookie of the Race.’ The driver who gains the most positions during an event is awarded the Holley Performer of the Race Award.  While most of these awards are for the highest finisher, AR Bodies support the driver who suffered bad luck and was cut short of a top finish with the ‘Hard Luck Award.’

Arcoplate and Ultra Cool Brake Fans joined the sponsorship family mid-season, while Pigwire, JRI Shocks, and City Chevrolet joined at the beginning of the season. The other contingency sponsors include: Comp Cams who sponsors the Engine Builder of the Race Award plus the Engine Builder of the Year Award, Racing Electronics Second to None award, Ford Racing, Five Star Race Bodies, WP Racing Shocks, Joe Gibbs, Swift Springs, Miller Welders, Tiger, American Fab, Tilton, MTP Tire, and Safety Kleen. The season would of not of been complete without all these sponsors. With their gracious sponsorship, the UARA-STARS passed out $65,000 worth of awards to their top-10 drivers in their recent awards Banquet. The awards varied from jackets to trophies and from cash to gift certificates.

As the series looks to kick off their season opener at SNMP on March 9th, they are still negotiating with sponsors for long standing releationships with the UARA family for the 2013 season and beyond.

There will be new sponsors on board and some returning sponsors are increasing their support to the UARA.

Ford Racing for example will increase the champion award to $1000 at year-end, up from $500 this past year. Ford Racing also increased the weekly sponsorship from $200 to $300 for the winner and added two additional awards, $150 to second and $75 to the third place finishers provided they are running Ford products.

Fans can keep up with all sponsorship announcements by following them on Twitter, @uarastars, and “like” them on Facebook under the United Auto Racing Association.
