Dillon Bassett Remains Focused as Season Winds Down

Dillon Bassett Remains Focused as Season Winds Down

With three races remaining on the UARA-STARS tour this season, Dillon Bassett heads into Anderson Speedway carrying momentum and looking to better his fifth place finish from June.

When the UARA-STARS took to the 3/8 mile track four months ago, Bassett qualified 21stand was able to rally his way forward to claim a top five finish. Since Anderson, Bassett claimed his first victory at Hickory and in the last two events won at Kingsport and narrowly missed victory lane at Lonesome Pine finishing second.

The Bassett Racing team is focused on improving their qualifying run for the 150 lap event this Saturday. In multiple events this season Bassett has worked his way into the top five after starting deep in the field, but the team is aiming for a good starting position in order to not waste valuable track position and tire wear.

“We’ve had some real solid runs with three consecutive top fives. I’m confident in my team that we can keep it going this weekend,” Bassett commented. Following Lonesome Pine, he lost only three points to leader Travis Swaim who captured the pole and win. Unfortunately, with three races remaining he needs to gain points versus maintaining or losing.

Dillon Bassett has remained on top rookie of the year standings for the majority of the season. He and his team acknowledge that regardless of where they end up in points, the 15 year old has had a phenomenal season by clinching two victories thus far.

Find out if Dillon Bassett can put his #44 Roof Shampoo Ford in victory lane for a third time this season. He will take the track Friday for practice, and the field will take the green flag Saturday evening. The event is available to view online at www.motorsportsbroadcasting.com.
