Bill To Stop Military From Sports Sponsorshop Fails

We were all watching this and holding our breath.  In an effort to trim some money out of the Federal Budget some of our congressmen thought the best thing to do was to ban the military from sport sponsorship.  Can you imagine going to a NASCAR even and NOT seeing a National Guard car?  The military is a fixture at every event I’ve ever been to or even watch on TV.  What better way to attract people to an all volunteer force than to advertise at a truly American sport.

Thankfully the bill wasn’t passed. This is one of those things that can be a slope.  Once congress starts micromanaging the military like that it’s the beginning of the end.  The next thing you know they will ban flyover at NASCAR event because the fuel for the planes is too expensive.  Do we really want to live in a country like that?

These organizations have done huge amount market research and the simple fact is their sponsorship of sports helps them attract new recruits.  This doesn’t just apply to NASCAR.  There is IndyCar sponsorship as well as Marine sponsorship in the MMA.  The military is the backbone of this county, let’s not take it out of our most popular sports.  Remember, election time is right around the corner.  It’s time to start paying attention to what those who represent us are doing and if we don’t like, make a change.
