Southeast Limited Late Model Series Returns to Action at Dillon Motor Speedway

TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. (June 25, 2012) – Round two of the SouthEast Limited Late Model Series returns to action this Saturday, June 30th at Dillon Motor Speedway  in Dillon, S.C . The 6th annual Fireworks Spectacular will be one of the largest in Dillon County.

A talented field of drivers is going to contend for the win on Saturday night. Logan Bunning, winner of the inaugural Southeast Limited Late Model Series race at Dillon Motor Speedway is entered in this weekend’s featured event and will be a favorite as the defending 2011 Track Champion. But with 5 winners in 6 races this season at Dillon Motor Speedway they are expected to contend for the win. 2012 season opener winner at Southern National Raceway Park Joey Throckmorton will be on hand to attempt to maintain his position atop of the point board.

“Looking ahead to this weekend’s race we should have a large field set to take the green flag Saturday night,” said Ed Cox of the SouthEast Limited Series. “There have been a lot of cars testing, and several drivers that couldn’t make the first event are planning on coming this weekend. It should be a great race.”

Dillon Motor Speedway owner, Ron Barfield, announced that any driver who has raced at the track in 2012 have extra incentive to win this weekend. If a driver that has competed in at least 1 race at Dillon in 2012 wins the race an extra $600 will be added to the $3000 already posted as the winner’s purse.

Also on hand is the Challenger Division for 40 laps of competition. With hard chargers like Brandon Clements winner of the Challenger portion of the event at Southern National Raceway Park, along with SELLM Challenger s like Garrett Jones and Garrett Marchant this “Rookie” division will have the fans on their feet. Just as the Pro division track owner Ron Barfield has added $400 to the Challenger’s winner’s purse if he has competed at Dillon during the 2012 season

This marks the second race of the 2012 season. The SouthEast Limited Late Model series created by Orion Motorsports owner Ed Cox and is designed to provide drivers with an affordable opportunity to race in a touring series.

In addition to the SouthEast Limited Late Model series other local divisions will be on hand. $300 to win 4 Cylinder, a $200 To Win UCAR plus $200 To Win Mini Cup Stock!  Friday Practice till 2-7pm. Saturday Gates open at 12pm with practice at 2pm, qualifying at 6pm and Green Flag at 7:30pm!
